  34. MLCSDemo is a demonstration of an image compression routine. The
  35. images are taken from Detritus and are 8bit photographic images. They
  36. have been compressed using MLCS, a lossy compression algorithm, to
  37. about half their original size. Each is on average 75% of the size of
  38. the equivalent JPEG file and of higher quality. MLCS will also compress
  39. 24bit files (typically to around 26% of original size). MLCS is
  40. available to programmers and can be obtained from Myndgaemz, 18 Mallory
  41. Crescent, Fareham, Hants, PO16 7QA.
